Iroshizuku--The Inspiration
The name "Iroshizuku" is a combination of the Japanese words "Iro" meaning Coloring, expressing high standards and variation of colors, and "Shizuku" meaning Droplet, which embodies the very image of dripping water. Each ink name derives from the expression of beautiful Japanese natural landscapes and plants, all of which contribute to the depth of each individual hue. Enjoy the rich and subtle colors of Japan as you write.
A Beautiful Spectrum of Nature-Inspired Hues
Pilot Iroshizuku Bottled Fountain Pen ink is offered in a beautiful spectrum of 24 nature-inspired hues ranging from Azalea Pink (Tsutsuji) to Bamboo Charcoal (Take-sumi.) Pilot's premium water-based fountain pen ink is created using the highest standards for eye-catching variations of color.
Iroshizuku ink has been carefully formulated for use in your most treasured fountain pens. As fountain pens can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars, it's important to use an ink worthy of the caliber of your investment. Pilot's Iroshizuku ink is a fountain pen ink you can use with confidence so nothing gets in the way of your personal writing expression.
The Iroshizuku Bottle--Functional Elegance
Each artfully designed Iroshizuku ink bottle is individually made from hand-blown glass. Due to the nature of the glass-blowing process, each bottle contains subtle variations in the shape of the interior ink reservoir, making each bottle into a work of art, with no two bottles exactly the same.
The expertly designed Iroshizuku bottle also features an angled notched bottom which allows fountain pens to drink up every drop of ink. An elegant paper label with the Japanese name of the ink color, a knotted silver cord, and a faceted black cap embellish the glass bottle. Each bottle contains 50 ml of premium fountain pen ink for lasting enjoyment of your favorite fountain pens.

What makes it great? It's flow. Even in a pilot vanishing point fine (new model) it glides across the paper with literally no pressure. Comparing this to parker quink or waterman inks that are usually dry with the vanishing point fine nib.
The color of the ink is something else. I was never much of a blue fan until I saw this ink. It's just stands out on the paper.
Speaking of paper, I had no issues with this ink on pretty much all types of paper. Cheap, expensive, they all work well. It does spread on my control paper (is use it to test feathering and such) but so does every fountain pen ink (pencil only paper). In addition to that, this ink dries quickly enough. I'm a lefty and haven't had any smear issues. I was actually worried about that when I first bought the ink due to reported long dry times but it seems that the Japanese fine nib I'm using negates that. If your a lefty, make sure to use a fine nib with this ink just in case.
Now let's discuss everything else. The bottle, it's great. There's a indent at the bottom of the bottle to help drain every bit with a fountain pen. The bottle itself looks fantastic. Not something you would want to toss and could make a good decor piece. Price wise you are paying quite a bit more compared to other inks out there so I would not call this a good value. If anything, this ink is like driving a sports car. The experience itself is worth the extra money.
If you enjoy writing with your fountain pen, this ink may just take that to the next level if you haven't tried it already. There's just something to be said for a ink that looks so nice and writes so smoothly, even on dry nibs.
THIS is a gorgeous color of blue.
I love it!!
Blue ink folks, aren’t black ink folks.
And - if you’re in the Blue Ink tribe, you’ll like this ink (kon-peki)…
Well worth the money.
Well worth the money.
That is not why I gave it only four stars as obviously a lot of inks don't work well on cheap paper. The reason I gave four stars was the bottle. The packing was fine, intact, and beautiful, though box for the bottle had a small dent in the upper-left corner. However, the ink bottle had a large scratch in on the back of it. I do not know how it occurred, be it due to complications during transit or an error caused while crafting it. The rest of the bottle was fine and just as I thought it would look like, and the scratch was relatively minor despite the fact it spanned the vertical height of the bottle; if the scratch were to be a crack, however, then I would not want to imagine the consequences.
Despite that, the product itself is entirely fine and very high-quality. It is quite pricey so it is up to you to decide whether it is worth the purchase or not. Though I am concerned about the issue with the scratch, I don't expect to have this issue on future purchases as it is definitely not something that is intentional--after all, I've purchased other products from Pilot and they work great. Use my review to be aware that as with most products out there, it may not always be as you expected and may have unintentional flaws in your particular order.
Also the bottle is heavy and made of glass so don't drop it.
Picture One: The dent of the box I spoke about. Not serious at all so I didn't speak much of it.
Picture Two: The scratch I took a star off for. Nothing serious either, but for a glass bottle it is a concern in my opinion.

Pilot Iroshizuku Kon-peki is a very nice medium blue ink. It's not a dark blue, but it's not pale either. It's just a nice clean blue. It's pretty hard to describe something like ink in words, but you can easily find plenty of reviews about this one with a little Google search, and it should give you a good idea of the color and properties.
As far as I can tell, it's pretty well-behaved on most of the papers I've tried it with, although, like other Iroshizuku inks, it can bleed and feather on more absorbent paper (ex: copy paper and the stuff you find in cheap notebooks). Then again, I've only had "trouble" with it when I put it in especially wet pens (trouble is a bit strong, it mostly just doesn't come out as clean as I would like). With something like a Lamy fine or extra-fine nib, or equivalent, it works perfectly and gives a good alternative to other kind of pens while still being neutral enough to be used in almost any setting. It's not waterproof, or at least not advertised as being waterproof, but it's enough to stay legible even if you drop some water on it, which is pretty good. The saturation is good, but not especially high, and the ink has a little red sheen to it, although it's more visible with broader/wetter fountain pens and on good ink-resistant paper (Rhodia, Clairefontaine, etc.).
The price is kinda high compared to other ink brands (retail price is around 35$, but you can usually find it for around 25$ or less on Amazon), but the Pilot Iroshizuku inks are all very nice inks and they are among the most well-behaved inks on the market. Part of the price is probably also due to the packaging. Iroshizuku inks come in very nice glass bottle, nested inside a protective cardboard box with a nice silvery metallic finish and a simple label indicating the brand and color. Long story short, they look very good and make pretty gifts. I bought this ink in particular as a gift for my dad, and he's been happy with it since he got it. Also, if you're not ready to jump for a full bottle of the stuff, a little internet search will lead you to some online stores who sell small samples of ink (usually 2ml), which is a good option if you want to try a bunch of color without breaking the bank. Some other places also offer smaller bottles of this line of ink (15ml I think). I haven't seen them on Amazon yet, but they'll probably show up eventually.
